The United States, along with 11 Asia-Pacific countries, have agreed to eliminate or reduce unnecessary costs to trade. Their free trade agreement – the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP)
- boosts U.S. exports, spurs job creation and strengthens intellectual property. We believe TPP is important because it takes into account the importance of an open internet and a strong digital economy.
TPP has a long way to go before it becomes law. The International Trade Commission (ITC) recently released a report
highlighting the economic benefits of the agreement. The next step is for President Obama to submit TPP to Congress for an up or down vote.
